QuikSilver Polarized Sunglasses
Quiksilver, is one of the world's major manufacturers of surfwear and other boardsport-related gear. Being based in Australia they have also diversified into polarized sunglasses. Its logo, consists of a large wave, with a mountain on a red background.
The corporation as well markets a line of clothing for young girls and women, under the trademark Roxy, named after the daughter of one of the founders.
The corporation was established in 1970 in Australia, when Alan Green and John Law brain stormed the idea of selling wetsuits for a living. They created a wetsuit that was specially designed for surfing, and over a period of time, introduced a range of surfwear products.
Quiksilver was successful enough in Australia to catch overseas attention, and in 1976, settled to sell the supply rights in the United States for quite a few million dollars. In 1984, they moved into the European market, with the formation of Quiksilver Europe.
Quiksilver have widened out from wetsuits, and become designers for surfwear, sunglasses, and also into the snowboarding and skateboarding markets. This was followed by the company's 2004 purchase of DC Shoes, and the 2005 purchase of Skis Rossignol, a key French ski producer.
Today Quiksilver runs 150 stand-alone stores in chief cities across Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific, North and South America, Asia, Europe and Africa.
